The certified Carbon Footprint Monitor helps you identify your carbon footprint and pinpoint areas for potential savings. By quantifying your carbon footprint, you can demonstrate your company’s environmental impact. Like the Energy Savings Monitor, the Carbon Footprint Monitor is part of the CO₂ & Energy RI&E.
The CO₂ & Energy RI&E has been recognized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. This means that this tool is listed among the Recognized Tools on the RVO website. Using this web application, companies can perform a comprehensive energy analysis and determine their CO₂ footprint at the company level. Both of these analysis systems are part of the overall RI&E toolkit, which companies can use to implement their CO₂ & Energy Reduction Policy.
Our approach
The CO₂ & Energy RI&E is a web-based application that complements RI&Es from other sectors. It includes a comprehensive Occupational Health and Safety Risk Inventory & Evaluation and an Environmental RI&E. Read more about it here.
A key benefit for users is that they only need to set up their company in the system once. A company that holds licenses for multiple RI&Es will be able to switch effortlessly from one domain to another within the web application.

Accountability
The emission factors for raw materials are based on publicly available LCA studies and various sector-specific studies within the creative industry. For the energy and fuel consumption of organizations, country-specific emission factors are used wherever possible. This includes data from co2emissiefactoren.nl for the Dutch context, [UK DEFRA] (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) for internationally recognized emission factors, as well as other relevant data sources.

The RI&E not only provides a comprehensive (EML) list of potential energy-saving options, but also includes a high-level CO₂ footprint monitor, as its calculation methodology is based on internationally recognized and accredited methods. After completing various input screens, the program will calculate a validated CO₂ footprint for your company.
Maintain
Once you have established your CO2 & Energy RI&E, it is important to keep it up to date. Maintaining the RI&E is essential to this. Therefore, have your RI&E periodically reviewed and updated by one of our CO2 and energy consultants. This ensures that you always have access to up-to-date management information.
Conducting audit
Conducting regular internal audits is an essential component of a carbon footprint monitoring system. This allows you to assess how well your system is performing and identify areas for improvement in a timely manner. Organizing internal audits is the best first step toward certification.
Certify
You obtain the certificate after a positive external audit conducted by a certifying body. We can assist you with the external audit and thus with obtaining a CO₂ and Energy certificate.
