ISO 50001 Energy Management

ISO 50001 is the internationally recognized standard for energy management, which focuses on gaining insight into energy consumption and reducing it. It is a tool designed to help organizations manage and reduce their energy consumption.

The accredited Energy Savings Monitor is a great first step toward implementing a certified ISO 50001 system. It helps you identify where your savings opportunities lie. Using this web-based application, companies can conduct a comprehensive energy analysis. Like the Energy Savings Monitor, the Carbon Footprint Monitor is part of the CO₂ & Energy RI&E.

Both of these analysis systems are part of the total RI&E toolbox, which companies can use to implement their CO₂& Energy Reduction Policy.

Please note: Starting in 2027, companies with an annual energy consumption of more than 85 terajoules will be required to have an ISO 50001 management system in place! So get started in 2026.
